According to the Additional Inspector General (AIG) for Karachi, Javed Alam Odho, 131 street crime incidents occurred in the city in a 24-hour period.
Murad Ali Shah, the chief minister of Sindh, received a thorough report on the crimes that occurred in the city within a day from Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi Javed Alam Odho.
A spokesperson for AIG reported that 37 incidents of mobile phone theft and cash theft were among the 131 street crime incidents that occurred in one day.
Four motorcycles and two cars were stolen, but only 88 theft incidents were reported.
The criminals and police officers engaged in four shootings.
In contrast to the 11 suspected criminals who were apprehended without incident, seven criminals were apprehended in injured condition.
During the last 24 hours, 140 suspects were arrested including 35 street criminals and dacoits, 13 car lifters, four murderers, 17 drug peddlers and suppliers, whereas, arms were recovered from 19 suspects.
Moreover, the number of arrested suspects was 52 who were involved in different crimes. Police also seized 22 illegal weapons, eight kilograms of charas, nine stolen mobiles and 19 vehicles.
