The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) closed Thursday’s trading session marginally higher, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index gaining 153.09 points, or 0.09%, to settle at 174,929.68 points.

The index had closed at 174,776.59 points in the previous session. During Thursday’s trading, the benchmark touched an intraday high of 175,796.24 points and a low of 174,893.67 points, reflecting a relatively narrow trading range around the previous close.
Trading activity remained strong, with 192.17 million shares changing hands in KSE-100 stocks, while their traded value stood at approximately Rs13.13 billion.
Across the broader market, total volume reached 627.45 million shares, with the value of trading amounting to Rs25.19 billion. A total of 346,023 trades were recorded.

Of the 569 stocks traded, 252 advanced, 207 declined and 110 remained unchanged, indicating a mixed market close despite the benchmark finishing in positive territory.

Among the most actively traded stocks, TISL emerged as the volume leader, with 94.95 million shares changing hands. The stock gained Rs0.88 to close at Rs3.94, after trading between Rs3.08 and Rs4.06.
CNERGY was the second-most traded stock, with 80.99 million shares, but declined Rs0.20 to close at Rs14.46.
PRL recorded 23.94 million shares in volume and closed at Rs105.01, down Rs0.38. Its session range stood between Rs102.30 and Rs106.90.
Among other actively traded stocks, HASCOL gained Rs0.19 to close at Rs21.40 on volume of 19.53 million shares, while ASL jumped Rs1.46 to Rs16.08, with 19.28 million shares traded.
FPJM came under selling pressure, falling Rs2.57 to Rs23.15 on volume of 18.97 million shares. The stock recorded an intraday high of Rs28.29.

Meanwhile, SGPLR was virtually unchanged, gaining just Rs0.01 to close at Rs10.11, with 16.93 million shares traded.
The session ended with the benchmark holding above the 174,900 level, as gains in several actively traded stocks helped offset declines elsewhere in the market.
A day earlier, PSX closed sharply lower on Wednesday, as broad-based selling pulled the benchmark index down by 1,690.40 points, or 0.96%, to 174,776.59.
The benchmark KSE-100 Index opened the session under pressure and remained volatile, touching an intraday high of 175,841.83 before falling to a low of 174,562.87. The index had closed at 176,466.99 in the previous session.
Market participation remained active, with 610.18 million shares changing hands across the exchange in 399,198 trades. The total traded value stood at Rs31.86 billion.
