The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast a fresh spell of rain, thunderstorms, and dust storms in Karachi and several parts of the country from June 16 to June 20.

According to the Met Office, Karachi is likely to experience thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds and dust storms during the forecast period. Residents have been advised to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel during adverse weather conditions.

The weather system is also expected to bring widespread rainfall to Punjab, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. Heavy downpours are forecast for Upper Punjab, the Potohar region, Islamabad, Murree, Galyat, and nearby areas.

In Balochistan, the northern and eastern districts may witness dust storms and rainfall, while other parts of Sindh are expected to receive dusty winds and light showers.

The PMD warned that intense rainfall could trigger urban flooding in low-lying areas, while heavy downpours may damage vulnerable infrastructure. Authorities have also been alerted about the risk of landslides in mountainous regions.

Citizens have been urged to follow official advisories, secure loose objects outdoors, and exercise caution during travel. Farmers have also been advised to adjust agricultural activities according to the latest weather forecast.
