The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued its latest three-day weather forecast for Karachi, predicting persistent hot and humid conditions from May 22 to May 24, 2026, as a high pressure system develops in the upper atmosphere, bringing no significant relief in sight for residents.

According to the PMD, Karachiites should brace themselves for another uncomfortable stretch of weather this weekend, with temperatures remaining elevated and humidity levels staying high throughout the forecast period.

A high pressure system is likely to develop in the upper atmosphere on May 25 and strengthen further on May 26, which may intensify heatwave conditions across Sindh in the days ahead.

Karachi Weather on Friday, May 22, 2026

Friday kicks off the forecast period on a hot and humid note, with temperatures already climbing across the city. Maximum temperatures will range between 34–36°C while the minimum temperature overnight was recorded at 28.5°C, offering residents little respite from the persistent heat. Morning humidity stands at 78 per cent while evening levels will settle between 55–65 per cent. Winds will blow from a West to Southwesterly direction throughout the day.

Saturday will bring a slight uptick in temperatures, with conditions remaining hot and humid across the city. Maximum temperatures will rise to 35–37°C while overnight lows will range between 27–29°C. Morning humidity will settle between 70–80 per cent while evening levels will remain between 55–65 per cent. Winds will continue from a West to Southwesterly direction.

Karachi Weather on Sunday, May 24, 2026

Sunday will round off the forecast period with more hot and humid conditions, offering no weekend relief for Karachi residents. Maximum temperatures will again settle between 35–37°C while minimum temperatures will range between 27–29°C. Morning humidity will hold between 70–80 per cent while evening levels will settle between 55–65 per cent. Winds will continue to blow from a West to Southwesterly direction.

The PMD has warned that maximum temperatures across parts of Sindh, including Sukkur, Shikarpur, Larkana and surrounding districts, are likely to rise between 47–50°C during the heatwave period from May 25 to May 31.

Temperatures in Tharparker, Badin, Hyderabad, Matiari and neighbouring areas are also expected to reach 44–47°C, making conditions extremely dangerous for vulnerable groups.

The PMD has strongly advised the general public, especially children, women and senior citizens, to take necessary precautionary measures and remain extra cautious during the ongoing heatwave spell.

Residents are urged to avoid direct sun exposure between 10:00 and 4:00 PM PST, drink plenty of water and limit unnecessary outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day.

Farmers across the province are also advised to carefully manage their crop activities and ensure the wellbeing of their livestock in view of the prevailing weather conditions.

Electricity demand is also expected to rise during the forecast period, and judicious use of water is advised in all aspects of daily life.
