The expected holiday schedule for Eidul Adha 2026 in Pakistan has begun to emerge, giving citizens an early idea of possible days off for the religious festival.
While the official notification has yet to be issued, preliminary estimates suggest a multi-day holiday period, depending on the sighting of the Zilhaj moon.

According to initial predictions, Eidul Adha is likely to be observed across Pakistan on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. If the festival falls on the expected date, public holidays may start from Tuesday, May 26, and continue until Friday, May 29.
With Saturday and Sunday weekend holidays included, government and private employees could receive six consecutive holidays.

SUPARCO earlier released astronomical calculations regarding the Dhul Hijjah moon for 1447 Hijri. According to the space agency, the new moon is expected to be born on May 17, 2026, at 1:01am Pakistan time.
At sunset on the same day, the moon’s age is expected to be approximately 18 hours and 30 minutes, which experts consider favorable for visibility.

SUPARCO also noted that coastal regions of Pakistan may experience nearly 60 minutes between sunset and moonset, increasing the possibility of moon sighting if weather conditions remain clear.
However, the final confirmation regarding Eidul Adha and moon sighting will only be announced after the official meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
