Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has launched a daycare facility at Jinnah International Airport to support female employees working at the airport.
According to the officials, the childcare centre was inaugurated by the Director General of the Pakistan Airports Authority after the establishment of a similar facility at the organisation’s headquarters.

The authority said the daycare centre will provide childcare services for the children of all working mothers employed at the airport.
In the initial phase, the facility will cater to children aged between three months and three years and will remain operational from 9am to 5pm.
Officials added that the authority is also considering plans to expand the daycare facility into a 24-hour service in the future to accommodate employees working rotational and night shifts at the airport.

Earlier to this, the Pakistan Airports Authority also announced plans to introduce an electric cart service at major airports across the country to improve passenger convenience and mobility.
Under the first phase, the electric cart facility will be launched at airports in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore and Multan.

The authority has already invited tenders for the electric passenger mobility cart service. The facility will help passengers travel between parking areas and airport concourse halls, while return trips from terminal buildings to parking zones will also be available.
According to Director Commercial Rabia Salmi, passengers will be able to book the electric carts through a mobile application. She said the initiative is expected to make airport travel easier, especially for elderly passengers and families.
