Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah inaugurated the Ultima Research and Diagnostic Laboratory, a state-of-the-art facility aimed at improving diagnostic services and healthcare delivery in Karachi.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the chief minister highlighted the importance of modern diagnostic systems in ensuring accurate and timely medical testing, which plays a key role in effective treatment and patient care.

He was received by Provincial Health Minister Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho, along with senior health officials and representatives of the laboratory.
Murad Ali Shah said the Sindh government is committed to upgrading healthcare infrastructure and expanding access to affordable medical services. He stressed that collaboration with the private sector remains essential to strengthen public healthcare systems.
“Providing quality and affordable diagnostic facilities to the people is the need of the hour,” he said, adding that the newly inaugurated lab is equipped with advanced technology to meet growing healthcare demands.

The chief minister noted that a significant portion of the provincial budget is allocated to the health sector, with ongoing efforts to improve tertiary care facilities and expand services across Sindh.
He also highlighted initiatives such as the establishment of Sindh Child Health Institutes and partnerships with ChildLife Foundation to enhance services at major hospitals, including Jinnah Hospital and National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Azra Pechuho emphasised the importance of accessible diagnostic services, noting that affordability remains a major challenge for many patients.

Ultima Lab CEO Dr Fazalullah Pechuho said the facility was established to provide reliable and cost-effective testing services, expressing hope that it would benefit people across the province.
