The arrival of these ships is expected to improve fuel availability in the domestic market and support the country’s petroleum supply chain.

It is worth noting here that the development comes just days after the Government of Pakistan announced a major increase in fuel prices. Petrol and diesel prices were raised by Rs55 per liter, a move officials said was necessary due to changes in global oil prices, economic pressures and regional uncertainty.

Energy experts say continued fuel imports remain essential for Pakistan as the country relies heavily on imported petroleum products to meet domestic demand.
