Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday announced that the BRT Red Line project is expected to be completed by June 2026.
He shared the update during a Sindh Cabinet session, where officials reviewed and approved costs for major transport infrastructure projects.

During the session, the cabinet also approved an increase in the cost of the Yellow Line Bus Rapid Transit under the Karachi Mobility Project to 620 million dollars.
The World Bank will contribute 155 million dollars towards the revised cost, while the Sindh government will arrange 18 million dollars.
The Chief Minister instructed that the 21-kilometer-long Yellow Line BRT project should be completed by December 2028.

He also emphasized the immediate start of road construction projects across Karachi.
In addition, the provincial cabinet approved the handover of the 36-kilometer Dumlottee to DHA water pipeline project to the Frontier Works Organization (FWO).
Funds of 300 million rupees were also approved for the purchase of land from PTCL for the Malir Depot.
