The Sindh School Education Department has extended revised school timings across the province due to persistent cold weather, aiming to protect students from harsh early morning conditions.

According to an official notification, all public and private schools will now open at 9:00 am until February 4, with the policy applicable uniformly across Sindh.

Officials said the decision was taken after reviewing weather conditions that have continued to affect several districts of the province.

They explained that early morning cold poses health risks to children, particularly younger students, and can increase the chances of seasonal illnesses.

Earlier to this, the Sindh Education Department has officially launched an e-transfer system to digitise the transfer process of teachers and departmental employees, aiming to ensure transparency, merit, and timely decision-making.

The initiative has been introduced on the directives of Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah as part of a broader digital transformation of the School Education Department.

According to officials, the traditional manual transfer mechanism has now been replaced with a fully digital system. The move is intended to eliminate favoritism, political influence, and unnecessary delays that teachers often face during transfers.

Speaking on the occasion, Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah said that shifting the transfer process online would bring much-needed transparency and fairness.
