Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

Pakistan have been placed in Group A and will begin their campaign against the Netherlands on February 7 in Colombo.

The tournament will continue until March 8 and will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka. In the 20-team competition, each side will play four group matches before moving into the Super Eight and knockout stages.

The squad was unveiled during a press conference at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

PCB Director High Performance Aqib Javed, Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha, and white-ball head coach Michael James Hesson addressed the media and highlighted the team’s preparation plans.

Salman Ali Agha has been appointed captain for the tournament, leading a team that includes several players making their first appearance in a T20 World Cup.

Faheem Ashraf, Khawaja Mohammad Nafay, Mohammad Salman Mirza, Sahibzada Farhan, and Usman Tariq have earned maiden call-ups for the global event, signalling a shift toward building depth in Pakistan’s T20 setup.

At the same time, experienced players such as Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shadab Khan, Naseem Shah, and Mohammad Nawaz bring valuable international experience.

These players have previously represented Pakistan in T20 World Cups since 2021 and are expected to play key roles in crucial matches.

The selected squad also includes Saim Ayub and Usman Khan, who have impressed in recent performances and domestic competitions. With a strong bowling attack and an evolving batting lineup, Pakistan aims to make a deep run in the tournament.

As part of preparations, Pakistan will face Australia in a three-match T20I series at Gaddafi Stadium on January 29, 31, and February 1. The training camp has already begun, giving the team limited but focused time to fine-tune combinations before the World Cup.
