However, officials clarified that the rain will not be continuous and will occur with intervals.
“Rainfall is expected on January 22 and 23, with gaps,” the PMD said in its latest advisory issued on Thursday.
Meteorologists added that the intensity of rain is expected to remain light to moderate, but it could still impact traffic flow and daily routines in the city.

Meanwhile, foggy conditions are expected to persist in Karachi on Friday, the Chief Meteorologist warned.
He said that fog may develop during the early morning and could turn into smog during daytime hours, particularly in areas with high traffic and industrial activity.
Chief Meteorologist Ameer Haider Leghari explained that the rising humidity levels in the air are the primary reason behind the ongoing foggy conditions across the city.

Increased moisture, combined with calm winds, has created ideal conditions for fog formation.
Addressing concerns about colder weather, the Met Office official said that no fresh cold wave is expected during the current month.
He added that the minimum temperature in Karachi is likely to remain between 12 and 14 degrees Celsius, keeping nights cool but not extreme.
