The Sindh Education Department has officially launched an e-transfer system to digitise the transfer process of teachers and departmental employees, aiming to ensure transparency, merit, and timely decision-making.

The initiative has been introduced on the directives of Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah as part of a broader digital transformation of the School Education Department.

According to officials, the traditional manual transfer mechanism has now been replaced with a fully digital system. The move is intended to eliminate favoritism, political influence, and unnecessary delays that teachers often face during transfers.

He stated that the e-transfer system will become fully operational from January 15 and will be expanded in phases to ensure smooth implementation and long-term sustainability.

Under the new system, teachers will be able to submit transfer applications online and track the status of their requests from home. This will reduce the need for physical visits to offices and limit direct interaction with officials, which has often been a source of complaints in the past.

Officials confirmed that the e-transfer system is a cabinet-approved initiative and is considered a major milestone in the department’s digitalisation journey.

In the first phase, the system has been launched specifically for teachers. In later phases, all employees of the Sindh School Education Department will be brought under its scope.

Initially, the system will cover Primary School Teachers (PSTs) and Junior Elementary School Teachers (JESTs). According to official data, the department currently employs 133,547 teachers, including 105,258 PSTs and 28,289 JESTs across Sindh.

Officials said the system would particularly benefit female teachers, who often face mobility and safety challenges while pursuing transfer requests through traditional channels.
