Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry on Tuesday said that 2025 marked a pivotal and decisive year in Pakistan’s fight against terrorism.

While speaking at a press briefing, the military spokesperson described terrorism as the most serious threat confronting the country at present, noting that counter-terrorism efforts throughout 2025 were carried out with unmatched intensity.

He said the year helped both the state and the public fully understand the real character of terrorism, highlighting that terrorist elements have no link to Islam, he termed them Khawarij and Fitna-al-Hindustan, adding that they have no affiliation with Pakistan or Balochistan.

He added that there is broad national agreement across political parties and societal groups on enforcing the National Action Plan under the counter-terrorism framework of “Azm-e-Istehkam” to root out terrorism from the country.
