The T20I series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be played at Dambulla International Cricket Stadium from January 7 to 11, with the toss scheduled at 6:00 pm and the first ball to be bowled at 6:30 pm.

It marks the first T20I series between the two sides in seven years.

The last time Pakistan and Sri Lanka played a T20I bilateral series, Sri Lanka won 3-0 in Pakistan in 2019.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced a 15-member squad for the T20I series against Sri Lanka.

Pakistan have made some changes to their T20I squad, with Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi rested to fulfil their Big Bash League commitments.

However, Shaheen Afridi has been injured in the BBL, further reducing his time in the league.

T20I vice-captain Shadab Khan has been included in the squad after recovering from a shoulder injury, while Abdul Samad and Khawaja Nafay have also been named.

Series Schedule and Venues

The first T20 International (T20I) will take place at the Dambulla International Cricket Stadium, on January 7, while the second and third T20Is will be held at the same venue on January 9 and 11.

Following the T20I series, Pakistan are expected to host Australia for a T20I series at the end of January.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka have faced each other in 27 T20I matches to date.

Pakistan hold the lead, having won 16 matches, while Sri Lanka have won 11 encounters.

In their last encounter during the 2025 Tri-Series final in Rawalpindi, Pakistan chased 115 runs to win the title.

Before that, Sri Lanka edged past Pakistan in their first round clash in the tri-series, winning in a last-ball thriller to qualify for the final.

Shoaib Malik leads the all-time run-scorers in Pakistan vs Sri lanka T20Is with 397 runs, including 2 fifties.

He is followed by another Pakistan great, Shahid Afridi, with 331 runs.

Among Sri Lankan players, Tillakaratne Dilshan tops the chart with 323 runs.

Among current Pakistani bowlers, Faheem Ashraf and Haris Rauf lead the chart with 7 wickets, followed by Abrar Ahmed with 6.
