Authorities in Karachi’s South District have imposed a complete ban on the buying and selling of illegal portions and additional floors to tackle the rising problem of unauthorized construction across the city.

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of South District has issued an official notification directed at all government registrars and builders, instructing strict compliance with the new regulations.

According to the DC, illegal construction activities in areas such as Lyari, Garden, Old City Area, and Clifton have become a major cause for concern.

Numerous real estate agents are reportedly involved in selling and marketing unauthorized portions and extra floors, which not only violate city planning rules but also pose serious safety risks to residents.

The DC emphasized that all registrars are strictly ordered not to accept any registration for illegal floors or portions.

Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner stated that a wide-scale and immediate crackdown against illegal constructions in South District has been launched.

This initiative aims to curb unauthorized building activities, ensure compliance with municipal regulations, and maintain public safety in densely populated urban areas.

Authorities will closely monitor construction projects to prevent further violations and maintain orderly urban development across the district.

The move is part of a broader effort to enforce legal construction practices and bring transparency to Karachi’s real estate market, ensuring that residents and buyers are protected from illegal dealings.
