Bahawalpur, Lahore Whites shine with victories in Quaid-e-Azam Trophy

The third day of the fifth round of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy saw dominant performances from Bahawalpur and Lahore Whites, both sealing convincing victories in their respective matches.

At Marghazar Cricket Ground in Islamabad, Lahore Whites defeated Multan by six wickets.

Chasing a modest target of 81, Lahore Whites comfortably reached the mark with six wickets in hand.

Earlier, Multan were bowled out for 199 in their second innings, with Imran Butt top-scoring with 71 runs.

Mohammad Abbas starred with the ball again, claiming five wickets for 51 runs this time, finishing the match with impressive figures of 10 wickets for 83 runs.

He was named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance.

In another fixture at Imran Khan Stadium, Peshawar, Bahawalpur defeated Karachi Blues by eight wickets.

Chasing 213 for victory, Bahawalpur reached the target with ease, losing only two wickets.

Saad Khan played a brilliant unbeaten knock of 103, hitting 17 fours, while Mohammad Ammar contributed 70 not out.

The duo added 166 runs for the third wicket.

Saad Khan was declared Player of the Match.

At Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi, Faisalabad posted 384 in their first innings against Peshawar.

Faham-ul-Haq struck a superb 157 with 18 fours, while Sajid Khan picked up three wickets.

Peshawar, in reply, reached 170 for six in their second innings, with Iftikhar Ahmed unbeaten on 54.

Meanwhile, at Diamond Cricket Ground, Islamabad, Abbottabad showed resilience after being forced to follow on against Sialkot.

They ended the third day at 331 for eight, with Shahzaib Khan scoring 131, including 20 boundaries and a six.

Khalid Usman added 83, while Mohammad Ali took three wickets.

At Abbottabad Cricket Stadium, FATA made 281 in their first innings against Islamabad, with Rehan Afridi scoring 91.

Hunain Shah took four wickets.

Following on, FATA fought back strongly and reached 284 for four in their second innings.

Khushdil Shah led the charge with a career-best 159 featuring 22 fours and two sixes, while Mohammad Sarwar remained unbeaten on 71.
