Multan Sultans owner Ali Tareen has responded with a sharp, sarcastic apology after the Pakistan Cricket Board served him a legal notice for allegedly breaching several clauses of the franchise agreement.
The PCB, in its notice, accused Tareen of violating parts of the 10-year PSL contract and demanded that he issue a public apology and withdraw his critical statements.
The board also warned that failure to comply could result in the termination of Multan Sultans’ contract and Tareen’s blacklisting from the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Tareen reacted through a video he shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account, where he mocked the notice while technically offering the apology PCB had asked for.
He criticised the PSL administration for avoiding direct dialogue, saying he was never contacted through a single call, email, or meeting request to resolve differences.
Instead, he said, the matter was escalated straight to a legal notice.

According to Tareen, the board is surrounded by people who “cannot handle criticism” and forget that the league “belongs to the fans and the country, not a few individuals in charge.”
Despite claiming his legal team advised that no apology was needed, he went on to give one anyway—using it as a tool to highlight the same issues he has been raising.
He sarcastically apologised for questioning the opening ceremony, pointing out problems like lip-syncing, delays, and technical errors.
He also mocked smaller complaints mentioned in the notice, including his complaint about bugs in PSL management systems and even being “10 minutes late” to a meeting.
Tareen said all he ever expected was professionalism and accountability, suggesting that these matters could have been settled through basic communication.
He offered a light-hearted solution as well: invite him for tea, sit together, and work things out like professionals.
The video ended with Tareen tearing up the legal notice on camera, closing his message with a final line: he “hopes the PSL management is satisfied” with his apology.
