The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has launched a nationwide awareness campaign to protect citizens from fake websites and fraudulent online job schemes.
According to media reports, the initiative aims to expose and counter attempts by enemy agencies seeking to steal sensitive national information under the pretext of offering online employment opportunities.
The reports further stated that these hostile entities are trying to obtain personal data from citizens and gather details about strategic locations and national institutions through deceptive online job offers.
Fake companies are reportedly luring Pakistanis by promising high salaries and remote work opportunities, particularly targeting the youth through social media and professional networking sites, the report added.
The report highlighted that the authorities identified LinkedIn, Job Gulf, and similar online platforms as key spaces where such fraudulent activities are being carried out to manipulate and deceive job seekers.

The PTA warned that in some cases, individuals are being asked to share photographs, coordinates, or details of national projects disguised as part of online surveys or research work.
Officials cautioned that this stolen information could be misused by foreign intelligence agencies to harm Pakistan’s security interests and endanger its citizens’ privacy.
In response, the PTA reaffirmed its ongoing collaboration with relevant ministries to issue regular public advisories, ensuring greater public vigilance against online threats and scams.
The authority urged citizens to avoid clicking suspicious links, sharing personal or professional details online, or engaging with unverified job offers circulating on social media platforms.
Officials stressed that citizens must remain alert, responsible, and aware of the agendas behind such cyber tactics designed to undermine Pakistan’s digital and national security.
