Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan has announced nationwide protests against Israel following its attack on the Global Samood flotilla.

JI chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman condemned the action, calling it an assault on humanity. This Jamaat-e-Islami protest against Israel comes after several leaders and activists were reportedly detained by Israeli armed forces.

Speaking at a press conference, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said the flotilla was a peaceful convoy carrying aid and activists.

Among those on board were former JI Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, human rights campaigners, Nelson Mandela’s grandson, a European Parliament member, and journalists.

He announced that countrywide protests will be held tomorrow, with a major march planned for October 4 and additional protests scheduled across Pakistan on October 7 against Israel’s aggression.

The JI leader described Palestine as both a religious and humanitarian cause for Pakistanis. He said Israeli forces are blocking aid, while countless Palestinian children have been martyred due to ongoing violence in Gaza.

Accusing Israel of destabilizing global peace, Hafiz Naeem said America had effectively given Israel a license to commit genocide. He criticized the international community for ignoring the plight of Palestinians.

Turning to the political dimension, the JI chief rejected US President Donald Trump’s proposed Gaza peace plan, describing it as biased and designed only to safeguard Israel’s interests.

He said the plan ignores Palestinian rights and amounts to a blueprint for further killings of oppressed people. Accepting it, he warned, would also weaken Pakistan’s position on Kashmir.

Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman added that Hamas leaders are seeking a ceasefire, but Israel’s actions continue to escalate violence. He urged Pakistanis to unite and raise their voices against oppression through peaceful protest.
