On Monday morning, a shop was raided in Defense as a First Information Report was lodged by a local against the business for selling plastic eggs.
Sindh Food Authority (SFA) along with Darakshan Police department raided the shop in Khyban-e-Sahar when residents lodged a complaint against a shopkeeper accusing the business of selling plastic eggs. The complainant reported that eggs had turned to plastic when fried. The report was filed two days earlier by Pakistan People’s Party leader Nawab Wassan and the police along with SFA headed out for inspection.
Two dozen eggs were recovered from the shop and the authority has found more than 100 crates of eggs from the supply van. These have been sent to the lab for further testing but the preliminary report suggests that these are made of plastic and are harmful, as said by SFA.

Four persons have been arrested in regards to this issue, including the owner of the shop, Jamil Ahmed. He was presented before the judiciary and granted bail for a surety of Rs 10000. The accused argued that the plaintiff had not purchased the eggs from his shop as the packaging was different.
