Bad weather conditions severely impacted air travel across Pakistan today, causing the complete cancellation of flights at Gilgit airport and delays for dozens of domestic and international flights nationwide.

According to the official schedule, four flights operating between Islamabad and Gilgit were canceled entirely. This affected both passengers traveling for business and those visiting for leisure or family reasons.

In total, 46 flights faced delays across the country. Karachi, a major hub for both domestic and international travel, recorded 12 delayed departures and arrivals due to operational and weather-related issues.

Islamabad topped the delay list with 11 flights affected, while Lahore reported 11 delays. Quetta saw three delayed flights, with Multan, Skardu, and Peshawar each reporting a single delay.

From Lahore, two private airline flights to Riyadh and Abu Dhabi experienced extensive delays ranging from four to ten hours, leaving many travelers stranded at the airport.

Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport also faced international disruptions, with a foreign airline’s flight from Muscat delayed by four and a half hours, affecting both inbound passengers and connecting travelers.

Airlines have cited a combination of bad weather, air traffic congestion, and operational constraints as the main causes of the disruptions. Passengers are advised to check flight updates before heading to the airport.
