The Sindh government has launched a Sindh Independence Day competition to celebrate August 14, offering prizes for the best national songs and creative decorations of homes, shops, and vehicles.

On the orders of Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, the Culture and Tourism Department has issued an official notification outlining the rules and formation of selection committees.

According to the notification, awards will be given to those who present the best national anthem or song and those who most beautifully decorate their buildings, homes, or vehicles.

Provincial Minister for Culture and Tourism Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah directed the department to implement the initiative with full national spirit and public participation.

A letter has been sent to President of the Arts Council, Ahmed Shah, empowering him to form a committee of renowned singers and musicians to judge the musical entries.

This committee will decide which singer has presented the most impactful national song or tune that reflects patriotism and unity on Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day.

For decoration contests, commissioners across Sindh have been instructed to create local committees under their supervision to evaluate decorations submitted by the public.

To make it easier for citizens to participate, a WhatsApp number will be launched soon for the public to submit videos or images of their decorated properties or vehicles.

Director Archives Sindh, Hidayatullah Rajar, has been appointed as the focal person for coordination between the department and regional committees overseeing the activities.

Zulfiqar Ali Shah said this initiative will spread national enthusiasm and unity. “These celebrations will send a clear message that the nation is united in the Battle of Truth,” he added.
