Federal Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has announced that Pakistan will land on the moon by 2035, marking a bold new chapter in the country’s space ambitions.

The minister congratulated the nation on the successful launch of a remote sensing satellite, developed by the Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO). He also praised SUPARCO’s engineers and scientists for their contributions.

“We are grateful for China’s strong cooperation,” Iqbal said, confirming that the satellite has successfully entered its orbit.

He noted that the launch is part of a broader strategy to re-establish Pakistan’s presence in global space technology.

Ahsan Iqbal also revealed that Pakistan, with Chinese assistance, is planning to send its first astronaut into space next year, a move that would mark another historic milestone for the country.

“We will reach the moon by 2035,” Iqbal affirmed, signaling the government’s long-term commitment to developing advanced space exploration capabilities.

Pakistan’s remote sensing satellite will enhance surveillance, environmental monitoring, and natural resource mapping.
