Dr. Muhammad Sadiq Kakar, a scholar from Jamia Binoria Al-Alamiya and a native of Quetta, has made history by becoming the first Pakistani religious scholar to earn a PhD in law from a foreign university.

Dr. Kakar’s journey is remarkable. He never attended school or college but completed the Islamic studies course Dars-e-Nizami in 2008. Motivated to pursue modern education, he faced rejection from a university law program due to the absence of an FA (intermediate) qualification.

He completed his FA privately and enrolled at the International Islamic University, where he studied Sharia and Law. He balanced teaching, daytime classes, and evening English lessons, eventually qualifying as a lawyer in 2014.

In 2019, he topped the Higher Education Commission (HEC) scholarship test, earning his place in a Belgian university. He completed his doctorate in June 2025, becoming a trailblazer among Pakistani scholars.

Dr. Kakar says he now aims to educate the youth and madrassa students in international Islamic law, Pakistani law, and human rights. His journey has inspired both his peers and teachers, earning him admiration across academic and religious circles.
