LCCI delegation explores trade prospects at Karachi Port

LCCI delegation Karachi Port visit

A high-level delegation from the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industries (LCCI) visited the Karachi Port Trust (KPT) Head Office on Monday to explore trade and investment opportunities offered by Pakistan’s premier port.

The visit aimed to strengthen business ties between Punjab’s trade sector and Karachi’s maritime hub.

The delegation was received by Transition Management Committee (TMC) members Mr. Abdullah Zaki and Mr. Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigol, who chaired a detailed session highlighting the port’s infrastructure, operational capabilities, and ongoing development projects.

During the briefing, the delegates expressed strong interest in KPT’s current and future ventures, especially those geared toward facilitating trade for Lahore and Punjab-based industries. Key areas of interest included investment in blue economy ventures, setting up LPG and container terminals, and the development of a Business District.

The TMC also discussed the potential of launching a ferry service to promote marine tourism and maritime adventure projects, which could boost economic activity and connectivity between provinces.

To commemorate the visit, souvenirs were exchanged between TMC members and Chairman SAARC/senior LCCI member Mian Anjum Nisar. The event concluded with a group photograph, marking a positive step toward inter-provincial business collaboration.
