WhatsApp is working on a new feature called WhatsApp AI Writing Help, which will help users write better messages while keeping their privacy protected.
The feature is being tested on iOS through the TestFlight beta (version 25.18.10.79). It will offer real-time suggestions to improve tone, clarity, and message structure directly while typing.
The tool uses secure technology called “Private Processing,” which ensures that messages are never saved or linked to users. All improvements happen in a privacy-safe environment.
This feature will allow users to choose from different writing styles – such as professional, casual, or empathetic – depending on who they are chatting with. More tones will be added in future updates.
When a user selects a suggestion, the original message is replaced with the AI-enhanced version. However, the person receiving the message won’t know that AI was used.
Using WhatsApp AI Writing Help is completely optional. It can be turned on or off in the app settings, and users can ignore suggestions at any time.
Importantly, the tool only checks the message being typed—it does not read previous chats. WhatsApp promises that feedback will also remain private and anonymous.
Users can rate the suggestions, helping improve the feature without exposing their messages. This move could improve communication while keeping privacy a top priority.
