The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued the weather outlook for Karachi on Friday, June 20, forecasting mostly cloudy and humid conditions across the city.
According to the PMD, temperatures are expected to reach between 34°C and 36°C, while minimum temperatures may remain between 29°C and 31°C.
Humidity levels will stay high, with morning humidity between 70–80 percent and evening levels ranging from 55–65 percent, making conditions feel hotter than the actual temperature.
The Met Office has also predicted windy weather, especially in southern parts of Sindh, with winds blowing from the west and southwest throughout the day.
Earlier in the day, the PMD forecasted pre-monsoon rains in several Sindh districts from June 22 to 24, as moist winds and a westerly wave enter the region.
According to officials, moist currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal are penetrating upper and central Pakistan, while a westerly system is likely to approach by June 20.
Under this weather system, dust storms, rain-wind, and thundershowers are expected in Sukkur, Larkana, Dadu, and Jacobabad districts over the three-day period.
The Met Office has alerted all Deputy Commissioners, District Disaster Management Authorities (DDMAs), and stakeholders to take necessary mitigation and preparedness measures before the onset of rainfall.
Possible impacts include windstorms or lightning strikes damaging vulnerable structures such as trees, vehicles, electric poles, and solar panels in the affected regions.
Weather experts also noted that the ongoing extreme heat will begin to ease gradually across upper and central parts of the country during the rain spell.
