Hinglaj Mata Temple tourism site

The Balochistan government has declared Hinglaj Mata Temple a world tourism destination, aiming to promote religious tourism in the country.

This significant announcement was made following a meeting between Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti and Senator Danesh Kumar, where strategies for religious tourism development were thoroughly discussed.

Hinglaj Mata Temple, located in Lasbela district, is a centuries-old Hindu pilgrimage site. It annually attracts hundreds of thousands of devotees from across Pakistan and various countries worldwide.

Recognized as one of the holiest Hindu shrines in South Asia, the temple sits within the Hingol National Park.

Chief Minister Bugti said Balochistan is a province that values religious harmony and cultural coexistence.

He noted that the government’s move reflects a commitment to minority rights, cultural preservation, and inclusive development through sustainable religious tourism models in Balochistan.

As part of this initiative, the provincial budget has allocated specific funds for the temple’s restoration and for improving roads, rest areas, and other visitor facilities nearby.

Officials believe that enhanced infrastructure and formal recognition will not only support Hindu pilgrims but also attract global tourists interested in history, religion, and archaeology.

The provincial government plans to work with local and international tourism bodies to market the Hinglaj Mata Temple as a unique cultural and religious destination globally.

This initiative is expected to foster greater intercultural understanding and promote Balochistan as a peaceful and welcoming place for people of all backgrounds.
