Karachi may host remaining PSL matches

PSL matches

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is actively considering relocating all remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 to Karachi.

This decision comes in light of the recent postponement of the match between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi, originally scheduled for Thursday in Rawalpindi.

The postponement was confirmed by the PCB, which cited concerns over the evolving security situation and regional tensions as key factors in their decision-making process.

During a meeting involving PCB officials, team franchise owners, and players, the discussions centered around ensuring player safety and addressing logistical challenges posed by the current circumstances.

The PCB aims to create a secure environment for the players and staff, which has led to the consideration of moving the matches to Karachi, a city with established infrastructure and security measures for hosting cricket events.

The backdrop of escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, highlighted by a recent drone incident near the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, has further underscored the need for heightened security. As security forces responded to the drone crash, sealing off the area, the PCB is prioritizing the safety of all participants in the tournament.

A revised schedule for the PSL matches, including the new venue details, will be announced by the PCB in due course as they work to navigate these challenges and ensure the successful continuation of the tournament
