Cricket fans across Pakistan and beyond are gearing up for the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), starting April 11, 2025.

With six teams, 34 thrilling matches, and action-packed double headers, the tournament promises edge-of-the-seat entertainment.

Venues for PSL X in Pakistan:

Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium will host the most matches, with 13 games scheduled. Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will stage 11 matches, including the all-important qualifier on May 13. Karachi’s National Bank Stadium and Multan Cricket Stadium will each host five matches.

PSL Winners and Runner-ups

Over the years, the PSL has seen various teams rise to the top. Islamabad United emerged victorious in 2024, defeating Multan Sultans, who have been runners-up for three consecutive seasons (2022–2024).

Lahore Qalandars won the title in both 2022 and 2023, while Multan Sultans lifted the trophy in 2021.

Previous champions include Karachi Kings (2020), Quetta Gladiators (2019), and Peshawar Zalmi (2017).

Islamabad United also secured wins in 2016 and 2018, making them one of the most successful franchises in the league.

Top 5 run-scorers in PSL history

Babar Azam leads the charts with 3,504 runs in 88 innings, averaging 45.50 with a strike rate of 127.41. He is followed by Fakhar Zaman with 2,525 runs at a phenomenal strike rate of 140.27. Mohammad Rizwan has amassed 2,403 runs, showcasing consistency with an average of 41.43. Shoaib Malik and Rilee Rossouw complete the top five with 2,336 and 2,015 runs respectively.

Highest Individual Scores in PSL History

The highest individual score in PSL history belongs to Jason Roy, who smashed an unbeaten 145 off 63 balls against Peshawar Zalmi. Other memorable knocks include Colin Ingram’s 127, Rilee Rossouw’s 121, Usman Khan’s 120*, and *Cameron Delport’s 117.

Most sixes in PSL history

Fakhar Zaman tops the list with 104 sixes, followed by Asif Ali (90), Kamran Akmal (89), Shoaib Malik (82), and Shane Watson (81). These power-hitters have thrilled fans with their boundary-hitting abilities.

Most sixes in a single innings

Ben Dunk holds the record for the most sixes in a PSL innings with 12 sixes against Karachi Kings. He also hit 10 sixes against Quetta Gladiators. Fakhar Zaman, Shadab Khan, and Usman Khan also hit 9+ sixes in a single match.

Most 50+ scores in PSL

Babar Azam again leads with 35 fifties, followed by Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman with 21 each. Kamran Akmal and Shoaib Malik have 15 half-centuries each, demonstrating their consistency across seasons.

Most ducks in PSL

While known for his batting, Imad Wasim has been dismissed for zero 12 times, the most in PSL history. Wahab Riaz follows with 10 ducks, while Kamran Akmal and Babar Azam have 8 each. Shaheen Afridi has 7 ducks to his name.

Most wickets in PSL history

Wahab Riaz leads the bowling charts with 113 wickets, closely followed by Hasan Ali (108) and Shaheen Shah Afridi (103). Shadab Khan has taken 91 wickets, while Faheem Ashraf has 78 to his name.

Best bowling figures in an innings

The best bowling figures belong to Ravi Bopara, who took 6/16 against Lahore Qalandars. Faheem Ashraf and Umar Gul also have six-wicket hauls. Usama Mir and Shaheen Afridi round out the top five with impressive fivers.

Five-wicket hauls in PSL

Shaheen Afridi is the only bowler with two five-wicket hauls in PSL history. Others like Arif Yaqoob, Umar Gul, Ravi Bopara, and Ihsanullah have managed one each.

Most runs conceded in a PSL match

Qais Ahmad conceded 77 runs in one innings against Multan Sultans, the most expensive bowling spell in PSL history. Others who were heavily punished include Usama Mir (68), Shahid Afridi (67), Anwar Ali (66), and Zafar Gohar (65).

Sarfaraz Ahmed has captained the most PSL matches with 80 games, winning 38. Shadab Khan has led in 55 matches, winning 31. Other regular captains include Imad Wasim (51 matches), Mohammad Rizwan (48), and Daren Sammy (39).

The highest wicket-taker in a single season is Hasan Ali, who took 25 wickets in the 2018/19 edition. Usama Mir (24 in 2023/24), Abbas Afridi (23 in 2022/23), Ihsanullah (22), and Faheem Ashraf (21) have also had stellar seasons.

Usman Khan has scored 3 centuries in just 14 innings, an incredible feat. Kamran Akmal also has 3 centuries but from 74 innings. Jason Roy, Sharjeel Khan, and Rilee Rossouw each have 2 hundreds, solidifying their status as match-winners.
