Overseas Pakistanis wanting to change their age on National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) cards in 2025 can now do so under new guidelines issued earlier in 2025 by National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
The updated policy allows age corrections through the Pak ID app, NADRA offices, or embassies abroad. NADRA has outlined specific requirements for different levels of age modification.
Required Documents and Eligibility:
For age changes up to five years (Only once). Applicants must submit either a Pakistani passport, matric certificate, recent mark sheet, or a valid service book.
A second-time correction is allowed only once, up to 366 days. This needs a Pakistani or foreign passport, a resident permit, or a matric certificate.

A single change of up to 366 days is also permitted if the applicant provides either a Pakistani or foreign-issued birth certificate, while, in cases where the age gap between siblings is less than seven months, NADRA allows a correction of up to one year without documentation.
Fee Structure for NICOP Age Modification:

Less than or equal to 1 year | $5 |
Greater than 1 year but less than or equal to 2 years | $25 |
Greater than 2 years but less than or equal to 3 years | $40 |

How to Apply:
Applicants are encouraged to apply using the Pak ID app, through their nearest NADRA registration centre, or the Pakistani embassy in their current country.
The process is aimed at transparency and accuracy, ensuring overseas Pakistanis can correct their NICOP data with minimal hassle and proper verification.
Earlier, NADRA clarified that registrations related to birth, death, and marital status fall under provincial laws and are managed by the Union Council (UC).
The new procedure ensures better data integrity in NICOP records while offering flexibility to those needing to update their date of birth information.
