Karachi illegal vehicle parts

Big news for vehicle owners in Karachi as authorities announce a two-month ban on selling illegal and prohibited vehicle parts.

According to the details, Commissioner Karachi has taken this step following recommendations from the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Traffic Police.

A notification has been issued that bans the sale of certain vehicle parts from April 8 to June 7, 2025.

The banned items include pressure horns, blue lights, police sirens, tinted glasses, green number plates, and other items not allowed under traffic laws.

The Home Department has also imposed Section 144 to enforce the ban, allowing police to take strict legal action against violators.

DIG Traffic had raised concerns that these illegal parts are being sold openly in many areas, posing risks to public safety.

He added that such accessories not only violate traffic rules but can also be misused for criminal activities and public disturbance.

The traffic police and law enforcement agencies have been directed to launch strict action against shops that continue to sell these parts.

Citizens have been warned to avoid using such illegal accessories or face fines, legal action, and possible seizure of their vehicles.

Commissioner Karachi stated that this step was necessary for the safety of all road users and to ensure proper law enforcement.

Officials believe this temporary ban will discourage the misuse of these parts and promote better traffic discipline in Karachi.

Shop owners and vehicle accessory dealers are being informed of the new rules and will be monitored for compliance during the two-month period.
