Mayor announces to install 12,000 street lights in Karachi

Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab has announced the installation of over 12,000 street lights across 246 union councils (UCs) during Ramadan 2025.

The initiative aims to restore Karachi’s lights and enhance security in the city.

Speaking at a street light distribution ceremony at the KMC Head Office, Wahab stated that 50 street lights are being provided to each UC chairman without discrimination.

He expressed optimism about Karachi’s transformation, stating that the city’s colors and vibrancy are returning.

He further highlighted that major development projects have started in various towns, ensuring that the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) is working actively across the city.

He credited recent tough decisions for improving KMC’s revenue and pledged to continue delivering better municipal services to the people of Karachi.
