The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) has announced the official Fitrana (charity) and Fidya (compensation for missed fasts) amounts for Ramadan 2025.

How Much Fitrana to Pay?

CII Chairman Allama Dr. Raghib Hussain Naeemi stated that the minimum Fitrana per person is Rs220 this year. However, those who wish to give more can calculate their contributions based on different food items:

  • Wheat – Rs220
  • Barley – Rs450
  • Dates – Rs1,650
  • Dried Figs (Munakka) – Rs5,000
  • Raisins (Kishmish) – Rs2,500
  • Fidya for Missed Fasts

For individuals who cannot fast due to chronic illness, Fidya amounts vary:

  • Wheat – Rs6,600 for the full month
  • Raisins – Up to Rs150,000

What is Fitrana?

Fitrana (Zakat al-Fitr) is a mandatory donation for all Muslims with wealth exceeding their basic needs. It ensures that the underprivileged can celebrate Eid with dignity.

The contribution should be made before Eid prayers, preferably given directly to the needy or through trusted charities.
