Saudi Arabia high alert rains Weather International

Saudi Arabia on high alert as torrential rains, floods hit Kingdom

Saudi Arabia is experiencing unprecedented torrential rains and severe flooding, which have affected several cities in the Kingdom.

The National Centre for Meteorology issued a range of weather warnings, including a red alert for the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah in the west, and areas in the eastern region.

Riyadh, central Saudi Arabia, and southwestern provinces like Aseer and Jazan are under a lower orange alert, however, people were still urged to remain vigilant amid anticipated rainfall.

In response, rescue teams, including the Red Crescent Authority, have been placed on high alert to ensure quick response and ambulance services.

Citizens are urged to stay cautious, avoid valleys and lowland areas, and follow safety advice due to the risks of rising water levels, which have already led to cars being swept off roads and buildings being submerged.

The bad weather in Saudi Arabia is expected to continue for several days.
