Pakistan Railways has reported earnings of Rs 46 billion for the first half of the current fiscal year, an increase of Rs 5 billion in revenue compared to the same period last year.

The revenue includes Rs 24 billion from passenger trains, Rs 16 billion from freight vehicles, and Rs 6 billion from land, coaching, and other sources.

CEO of Pakistan Railways, Aamir Ali Baloch, expressed optimism, stating that the record revenue indicates the organization is moving in the right direction.

He highlighted that 2025 would be a year of significant change for the railways.

Baloch further confirmed that a new train service for Karachi would be launched by March 2025, fulfilling the promise made earlier.
