Govt to upgrade all Darul Amans, build 115 day care centers in Sindh

Sindh government has decided to upgrade all Darul Amans (women’s shelters) in the province and establish 115 day care centers for the convenience of working women.

The decision was made during a key meeting of the Women’s Development Department, chaired by Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Haider Shah.

Provincial Minister for Women’s Development, Shahina Sher Ali, and department officers were also present at the meeting, where several development projects aimed at empowering women were discussed.

These initiatives include providing job opportunities with protection and assisting skilled women through dedicated funds.

The government has allocated Rs 954 million for 8 ongoing projects under the Women’s Development Department.

In addition, the Chief Secretary assured that funds would be provided to further support women’s skills development.

As part of the decision, play areas and tutors will be provided for children in the upgraded Darul Amans.

The first phase of the day-care centers will focus on government institutions and universities, with plans for wider expansion, while the Chief Secretary emphasized that delays in these projects would not be tolerated.
