Sindh launches Pakistan’s first senior citizen card

The government of Sindh has introduced Pakistan’s first Senior Citizen Card to provide essential services and benefits to the elderly population of the province.

Inaugurating the initiative, Sindh’s Social Welfare Minister, Mir Tariq Ali Khan Talpur, stressed that the card would offer medical facilities, travel conveniences, and other basic amenities to senior citizens.

Developed in collaboration with the National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA), the program aims to support 3.7 million individuals aged 60 and above.

“This card reflects the commitment of the Singh government to ensuring dignity and peace for senior citizens,” the minister said.

“Senior citizens are the backbone of our history and culture. It is our moral duty to make sure that they live with dignity and peace, our government is committed to fulfilling the needs of senior citizens”, he said.

Ehtesham Shahid, Director General NADRA Sindh, noted that the card will serve as an identification tool, facilitating access to healthcare and travel benefits for eligible individuals.
