Schools at Shahrae Faisal to remain close for next four days

Following the instructions of DIG Traffic, the Directorate of Private Schools on Monday announced that the educational institutions will remain closed for the next four days in Karachi.

The decision was made following a recommendation from DIG Traffic Ahmed Nawaz Cheema, who cited concerns about traffic flow and security as the Defense Exhibition IDEAS 2024 is schedule to kick off from tomorrow in Karachi’s Expo Center.

In view of which the Directorate of Private Schools has announced to keep educational institutions located around Sharia Faisal and Habib Ibrahim Rehmatullah Road will remain closed for four days, from November 19 to 22.

The DIG Traffic had earlier written to the Commissioner of Karachi, requesting school closures in affected areas to ensure smooth traffic management and enhanced security for the high profile event.

The Directorate has urged school administrations in the designated zones to comply with the directive.

“The closure is necessary to avoid disruptions and ensure public safety during the four-day event,” said the Directorate.

The exhibition will feature several activities, including an opening ceremony and international seminars on defense industry topics, meanwhile, tight security measures have been put in place to accommodate dignitaries and international participants.

Parents and students are advised to plan accordingly during this period of heightened activity around the Karachi’s Expo Center.
