NADRA’s new travel restriction: Polio vaccination cards mandatory for passengers traveling abroad

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued a new travel restriction, making it mandatory for passengers traveling abroad to present their polio vaccination cards. The directive, issued on Monday, applies to all passengers and has been conveyed to the administrations of airlines and airports.

Passengers are required to have updated online polio vaccination cards while traveling abroad, and they must renew their vaccination cards after the expiration of the old ones.

In contrast, in June, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) had abolished the requirement for COVID-19 vaccination and testing evidence for passengers traveling to and from Pakistan. The need for presenting a COVID-19 vaccine certificate upon arrival and a negative PCR report before boarding flights was eliminated for all passengers. Additionally, the 2% screening for COVID-19 of passengers arriving from the UK, Gulf, and other countries was also abolished.
