The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has rejected reports claiming that the Rs 10 currency note is being discontinued, calling the reports circulating on social media baseless.

The central bank issued the clarification in response to viral claims suggesting that the Rs 10 banknote would soon be withdrawn from circulation.
According to the SBP, no decision has been taken to discontinue or replace the Rs 10 denomination.

The central bank clarified that it has submitted a proposal for introducing a new banknote series, but the proposal is currently under consideration by the Federal Cabinet.
The SBP said the proposal should not be interpreted as a decision to withdraw any existing denomination, including the Rs 10 banknote.
Will the Rs 10 Note Be Discontinued?
At present, there is no decision to discontinue the Rs 10 banknote, according to the clarification attributed to the State Bank.
The central bank said that if any decision is made in the future regarding the replacement or discontinuation of a denomination, it will be formally communicated through official channels.
The SBP also said adequate time would be provided to the public to exchange any banknotes that may be discontinued.
The State Bank advised citizens not to rely on unverified information circulating on social media regarding currency notes.
People have been encouraged to rely on official communications issued by the State Bank of Pakistan for information about changes to the country’s currency and banknotes.
