K-Electric has scheduled maintenance-related power shutdowns on 28 feeders across Karachi on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, affecting electricity supply in several areas of the city.

According to K-Electric, the planned outages are part of its routine maintenance programme aimed at improving the efficiency, stability and reliability of the electricity distribution network.
The affected feeders will remain offline for different durations, with scheduled shutdowns taking place between 8:00am and 6:00pm, depending on the location.
The power utility clarified that these are planned maintenance shutdowns and should not be confused with unplanned outages caused by technical faults, tripping or system overloads.

Residents whose areas are connected to the 28 feeders scheduled for maintenance on August 18 are likely to experience temporary power interruptions during the announced maintenance windows.

If Your Area Is Affected
- Charge phones, laptops, and any backup devices ahead of the scheduled window.
- If you rely on an electric water pump, fill storage tanks before the outage begins.
- Avoid opening fridges/freezers unnecessarily during the outage to keep food cold longer.
Power should restore automatically at the listed end time – if it doesn’t come back within an hour of the scheduled end, that likely indicates a separate fault, not the planned maintenance.
