The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has announced the schedule and registration policy for MDCAT 2026, the entrance test for admissions to medical and dental colleges across the country.

According to the council, MDCAT 2026 will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at 10:00am. Online registration for candidates will begin on June 22 and continue until July 8, while registrations with a late fee will be accepted until July 13.
PMDC said the registration fee for candidates in Pakistan has been set at Rs9,000, while the late registration fee will be Rs13,000. The registration fee for international test centres has been fixed at Rs45,000.

The council stated that all fees will be non-refundable and non-transferable.
According to the announced arrangements, MDCAT in Sindh will be conducted under Sukkur IBA University, in Punjab under the University of Health Sciences Lahore, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under Khyber Medical University Peshawar, and in Balochistan under Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences Quetta.
The examination in Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Riyadh will be administered by Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University.

PMDC said candidates from Sindh will be able to appear for the test at centres established in Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur, and Larkana. Candidates from Punjab will take the test in 14 different cities.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, examination centres will be established in eight cities, including Peshawar, Mardan, Swat, and Abbottabad, while candidates from Balochistan will appear for the test in Quetta. An international test centre will also be established in Riyadh for overseas candidates.
According to the announcement, once selected, an examination centre cannot be changed. MDCAT 2026 will consist of 180 multiple-choice questions and there will be no negative marking. Candidates will not lose marks for incorrect answers.

The council further stated that candidates must complete their registration through the MDCAT portal, while incomplete applications will not be accepted. The MDCAT syllabus and other details will be available on the PMDC website.
PMDC also clarified that it reserves the right to make changes to the examination schedule if required.
