The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued its latest three-day weather forecast for Karachi, predicting persistent hot and humid conditions from May 26 to May 28, 2026, as a high pressure system strengthens in the upper atmosphere, bringing no significant relief in sight for residents during the Eid ul Adha holiday period.

According to the PMD, Karachiites should brace themselves for another uncomfortable stretch of weather over the coming days, with temperatures remaining elevated and humidity levels staying high throughout the forecast period.

Karachi Weather on Tuesday, May 26, 2026

Tuesday kicks off the forecast period on a hot and humid note, with temperatures sitting high across the city. Maximum temperatures will range between 35–37°C while the minimum temperature overnight was recorded at 29.2°C, offering residents little respite from the persistent heat. Morning humidity stands at 78 per cent while evening levels will settle between 55–65 per cent. Winds will blow from a West to Southwesterly direction throughout the day.

Wednesday will bring a continuation of the hot and humid pattern across the city, with no significant change in conditions expected on the first day of Eid ul Adha. Maximum temperatures will hold between 35–37°C while overnight lows will range between 28–30°C. Morning humidity will climb to 75–85 per cent while evening levels will rise to 60–70 per cent. Winds will continue from a West to Southwesterly direction.

Thursday will round off the forecast period with more hot and humid conditions, offering no relief as the Eid ul Adha holiday period continues. Maximum temperatures will again settle between 35–37°C while minimum temperatures will range between 28–30°C. Morning humidity will hold between 75–85 per cent while evening levels will remain between 60–70 per cent. Winds will continue to blow from a West to Southwesterly direction.

Extreme Heat Warning for Upper Sindh

The PMD has warned that a dangerous heatwave is gripping interior Sindh, with maximum temperatures in districts including Sukkur, Shikarpur, Larkana and surrounding areas likely to rise between 47–50°C until May 31. Temperatures in Tharparker, Badin, Hyderabad, Matiari and neighbouring districts are also expected to reach 44–47°C, making conditions extremely dangerous for vulnerable groups.

Karachi’s Relative Moderation

While Karachi will escape the most extreme temperatures due to its coastal location, the persistent hot and humid conditions will continue to cause significant discomfort for residents throughout the Eid ul Adha holiday period.

Public Health Advisory Issued

The PMD has strongly advised the general public, especially children, women and senior citizens, to take necessary precautionary measures and remain extra cautious during the ongoing heatwave spell. Residents are urged to avoid direct sun exposure between 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM PST, drink plenty of water and limit unnecessary outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day.

Farmer Guidance for Extreme Conditions

Farmers across the province are also advised to carefully manage their crop activities and ensure the wellbeing of their livestock in view of the prevailing weather conditions.

Electricity demand is also expected to rise during the forecast period, and judicious use of water is advised in all aspects of daily life.
