The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued a public warning about increasing phishing scams targeting mobile and internet users across Pakistan.
In an advisory shared on social media, PTA explained that phishing is a type of online fraud in which users are tricked through fake emails, SMS messages, or websites.
These scams are designed to steal sensitive personal information such as one-time passwords (OTPs), passwords, and banking details.

How Citizens Are Being Targeted
Cybercriminals are sending deceptive links and messages that appear to be from trusted sources. Once users click on these links or enter their details, their personal and financial information can be compromised.
PTA stressed that users should never click on suspicious links and must always verify the sender before responding to any message.
