According to sources, the extended break could give government employees and other workers enough time to travel to their hometowns and spend the Eid holidays with their families.
The extended holiday period could particularly benefit people from other parts of Pakistan and interior Sindh who are working in Karachi, allowing them additional time to return home for the celebrations.
Expected Eid Holiday Schedule
The proposed holiday period would combine the Eid holidays with weekends and the expected holidays around Hajj.
According to the schedule cited by sources, the break could begin with the weekend of July 17 and 18, followed by holidays associated with Hajj Day on July 19 and 20, subject to the sighting of the moon.
The three-day Eid ul Azha holidays are then expected to fall from July 21 to 23, followed by another weekend on July 24 and 25.
If the schedule is approved and the dates remain unchanged, the combination of public holidays and weekends could result in a nine-day continuous break.
Relief for Workers and Families
The extended holiday period would provide an opportunity for people working away from their hometowns to travel and spend more time with their families during Eid ul Azha.
