Sindh Cabinet SIUT

The Sindh cabinet approved major decisions involving new hospitals, flood housing, safety laws, and inclusive city plans to support national development and social reform.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said the federal government provided Rs9 billion, reflecting trust in Sindh’s performance. The funds support SIUT hospitals in Rahimyar Khan and Rawalpindi, and housing aid for flood victims in Balochistan and KP.

The cabinet approved Rs2 billion for SIUT Rahimyar Khan and Rs1 billion for Rawalpindi, with Rs500 million for operational costs. Sindh will oversee the projects using audits and progress checks.

CM Shah said this effort promotes health equity nationwide and boosts Sindh’s national image for generosity and unity.

The National Rural Support Programme (NRSP) will lead house rebuilding in Sohbatpur, Jaffarabad, and Dera Murad Jamali in Balochistan, and Dera Ismail Khan in KP.

The cabinet also approved Rs532 million for infrastructure along Allama Rasheed Turabi Road and Rs1 billion for a new underpass in Karachi’s Karimabad area.

New vehicle laws were also introduced to improve road safety. Fitness certificates, age restrictions, and automatic penalty systems were added. Old vehicles and substandard rickshaws are banned from specific routes.

HTV licenses now require 30 hours of education, and age limits dropped to 22 with LTV experience. Fines for violations, like tinted windows, may reach Rs300,000. Exclusive Traffic Courts will handle such cases.

A proposal for special narcotics courts was passed due to 9,676 pending drug cases. Karachi will get three courts, with others in major cities.

The cabinet also approved the Inclusive City for disabled people in Korangi on 88.38 acres. Rs5 billion was allocated. Fast-track approval was granted to developer Shahid Abdullah.

Other key approvals included e-registration integration with NADRA, a Thar water supply scheme worth Rs7.6 billion, and expansion plans for Aror University to award degrees in emerging fields.
