National Women’s T20: Strikers, Challengers seal victories

On the second day of the National Women’s T20 Tournament, cricket fans witnessed two thrilling matches with standout performances from rising stars and experienced players alike.

Match 1: Strikers vs Invincibles

Played at National Bank Stadium, Invincibles posted 134/7 in 20 overs.

Sadiqa Riyaz starred with a brisk 58 off 42 balls, including one six and eight boundaries, while Muneeba Ali added 31 runs in an 80-run opening stand.

For Strikers, Umm-e-Hani impressed with the ball, taking 3/18.

In reply, the Strikers chased down the target in the final over, finishing on 135/3.

Iman Fatima named player of the match for her unbeaten on 42 runs, supported by skipper Gul Feroza who made 41.

Match 2: Challengers vs. Stars

At Oval Ground, Stars were restricted to 116 all out.

Sidra Nawaz top-scored with 27 not out, as Rameen Shameem and Zainab Nisa each took 2 wickets.

Challengers reached the target in the last over, scoring 117/6.

Sadaf Shams led the chase with 32 runs, while captain Rameen Shameem anchored the innings with 21 not out and earned player of the match award.

Tuba Hassan was the pick of the bowlers for Stars with 3 wickets.
