IT students at governor house must pass Karachi university exam: spokesperson

Governor IT program

A new examination system has been introduced for students enrolled in Information Technology (IT) courses under the Governor House Sindh initiative.

According to the details, the interested students must pass an exam conducted by the University of Karachi to receive their course completion certificates.

A spokesperson from the university confirmed that several mandatory conditions must be fulfilled to qualify for the certification process.

One key requirement is that only candidates with at least intermediate (Inter) education will be eligible to receive the certificate.

Students who do not meet this education level will be disqualified from receiving a certificate, even if they complete the course.

Earlier, the Governor House had announced that certificates would be awarded by the University of Karachi under a formal agreement.

This agreement was finalized through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Governor House and the university.

The new requirement aims to standardize IT education credentials and ensure the credibility of certificates issued under the Governor’s Initiative.

The University of Karachi will now evaluate students through formal exams, making certification more structured and performance-based.

Authorities believe this step will increase the value of the course and help students compete better in the IT job market.

Students currently enrolled in the program have been informed about the updated criteria and are preparing for the upcoming examination.
